Dr. Marcos Sorá is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Católica Lisbon Research Unit and will serve as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign starting in 2025. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago in 2024, following a B.A. in Economics from Universidad Torcuato Di Tella in 2015. His research focuses on macroeconomics and international trade, with published work in the Journal of International Economics. He has been recognized with prestigious fellowships, including the Rosen Memorial Fellowship and the Neubauer Fellowship, and served as a junior adviser to the Minister of the Argentinean Treasury from 2016 to 2018.

Rohin Bhatt is a queer, non-binary lawyer and bioethicist practicing in the Supreme Court. They hold a Master’s degree in Bioethics from Harvard Medical School and a law degree from Gujarat National Law University. Rohin’s activism spans legal challenges for marriage equality and other issues in human rights. Rohin’s first book, Urban Elite v. Union of India: The Unfulfilled Constitutional Promise of Marriage (In) Equality will be published by Penguin Random House India in October 2024. They have written for various newspapers and platforms such as The Indian Express, Times of India, and The Hindu, have been frequently quoted by organizations such as The Guardian, BBC World Radio Service, and Hindustan Times among others. They are also the co-founder of the Indian Bioethics Project.

Anirudh V. Raghavan is currently pursuing his PhD in Sociology and Anthropology at Ashoka University. His PhD is a multi-method study of the retail investing boom in India. His work draws on economic sociology, behavioral finance and economic history. His published works have appeared in The Economic and Political Weekly and The Wire Science. In his spare time, Anirudh writes and publishes Haikus and long form poems which have appeared in literary magazines including Modern Haiku, FrogPond and The Alipore Post among others.

Philip Cherian is currently a graduate student in Physics at Ashoka University, where he builds models to understand the spread of infectious diseases like COVID-19. He earned his B.Sc from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, and pursued his postgraduate studies in Theoretical Physics at École Polytechnique and École Normale Supérieure in Paris. He enjoys coding, working with data, and moonlighting as an amateur astronomer. Philip is also particularly passionate about teaching Physics. He has been interacting with undergraduate students for over 7 years, and has helped develop three laboratory courses at Ashoka University.

Naomi is a Neubauer Family Distinguished Doctoral Fellow at the University of Chicago, where she is pursuing a Joint PhD in the Departments of Comparative Literature and Middle Eastern Studies. Her research focuses on Hittite literature and explores issues of translation and translatability. Naomi has extensive experience teaching academic and professional writing to graduate and undergraduate students across disciplines at the University of Chicago, and recently won the Francis X. Kinahan Award for excellence in teaching the university’s flagship writing course. Her goal in teaching is to offer writers tools to enhance their voices, and perspective to help them understand what effect their writing will have on their readers.

Paritosh is the Founder of RECO Education. He completed his BA from Stanford University, where he won the Quad Award in Architectural History and the Lawrence Bermann Prize in Religious Studies for his research on the history of the temples of Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu. Following his undergraduate studies, he attended the University of Chicago Divinity School on a full scholarship as a Chester W. Laing Fellow. There, he earned an MA in Religion and an MA Certificate in Education & Society. His primary area of focus was in integrating academic and personal themes in curriculum. Before starting RECO, Paritosh worked in the Office of High School Programmes at Ashoka University, running programmes for students in Grades 9-12.

Zachary is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Chicago where he specializes in behavioural and development economics. Using original data he collects in sub-Saharan Africa, he works closely with the UChicago Development Innovation Lab to understand and develop solutions for issues related to access to electricity and healthcare. Previously, Zachary was a Senior Research Analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and a Visiting Researcher at the Economic Policy Research Institute in Cape Town, South Africa.

Vivan Malkani holds an MS in Management Science and Engineering and BA in Political Science from Stanford University. Over the last four years at the US-based energy consulting firm, E3, he has worked on projects with US state agencies and utilities to develop clean heat strategies, decarbonize building energy use, and make energy more affordable.

Sanam Sheriff is a queer poet, performance artist, and educator from Bangalore, India. They are a Visiting Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at Bryn Mawr College and hold an MFA from Washington University in St. Louis. Sanam’s work has been published by The Academy of American Poets, Indiana Review, Outlook India, Virginia Quarterly Review, and elsewhere. They have been awarded the Thomas J. Watson Fellowship and received support from literary initiatives such as Kundiman and The Watering Hole. Sanam is currently working, with much love, on their debut poetry collection.

Surya HK is a queer writer and educator whose expertise lies at the intersection of culture and communication. His experience is across various domains such as journalism, PR, digital marketing, event management, corporate strategy, politics, and public policy. Currently, he is an Impact Fellow at the Salzburg Global Seminar. He is also the Design Lead for the Salzburg Academy on Media and Global Change. His last position was as Senior Manager of Marketing and PR at the JSW Foundation, one of India's largest social development and philanthropic organisations, with a portfolio of projects and initiatives across the sectors of education, healthcare, environment, arts and culture. Earlier, as Events and Outreach Manager at the Museum of Art and Photography (MAP), he focused on event curation and outreach activities for a varied cross-section of public audiences. He was previously chief of staff to Samir Jain, at the Vice Chairman's Office of The Times of India Group- India's largest media conglomerate. In the past, he has organized international literature festivals & media conclaves, worked on election campaigns & conducted legislative research for Members of Parliament, done outreach on behalf of NGOs, and has also taught courses on journalism, feminism, and political science at Ashoka University. His writing has been featured in The Times of India, The Economic Times, The Hindu, India Today, Indian Express, amongst several other international publications. He is also developing shows for streaming platforms as a screenwriter and creative producer. Being a curious cat and a news junkie comes as a boon for Surya, a writer by practice and a reader by passion. He is a Young India Fellow and completed his master's in Political Science at Ashoka University.

Shabdita is a researcher and museum professional specializing in early-modern South Asian history and public-facing historical work. She holds an MA in Liberal Studies with a concentration in History from Ashoka University and a BA (Hons) in History from Hindu College, University of Delhi. Her interdisciplinary background spans historical research, business analysis, architectural studies, and pedagogy. Shabdita’s work reflects a commitment to making history accessible to diverse audiences through both academic and public platforms. She brings a thoughtful, research-driven approach to understanding the past and its interaction with the present, and how history is interpreted and presented in contemporary cultural spaces.

K. Mohan Reddy holds an M.Sc. in Biotechnology and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Human Immunology. His research focuses on assessing immune memory responses against SARS-CoV-2 in vaccinated individuals, with particular interest in T and B cell dynamics. He is passionate about translational immunology, vaccine efficacy, and understanding the persistence of immune memory. He has presented his work at national conferences and actively engages with emerging research in infectious disease Immunology.

Anubha holds a PhD in History from Stanford University, where she wrote her thesis on political corruption and colonialism in India. She investigates various corruption scandals in colonial and postcolonial South Asia to trace the diverse lives of democracy in the subcontinent. She has taught at Stanford University and the University of Delhi. She is currently the Global Editor of Central European University’s journal, The Review of Democracy. Her work has been published by Cambridge University, Routledge, Palgrave, and in newspapers such as The Wire and Prabhat Khabar. She enjoys thinking about hypocrisies of history, and is enthusiastic about subversive films and music.
